Courtney Bissette, Director of Business Operations

Courtney is entering her second year in senior living and brings a natural warmth and hospitality‑driven approach to Modena Cary. She was introduced to the field a little over a year ago and quickly discovered how meaningful it is to be part of a chapter in someone’s life story. She loves learning about residents’ histories, celebrating their accomplishments, and getting to know the families they’ve built—while sharing her own in return. For Courtney, the bonds formed here and the joy of watching residents thrive are what make this work feel so special.

As Director of Business Operations, Courtney finds her greatest fulfillment in supporting employees and helping them feel confident and connected in their roles. She enjoys motivating team members, encouraging them to build strong relationships with residents, and creating an environment where people feel reassured and cared for. In her previous role, she guided residents through the move‑in process and helped them settle comfortably into the community—an experience that made “Welcome Home” her favorite phrase. Compassion is the value that guides her most, and she believes residents, families, and staff all deserve understanding and grace as they navigate this chapter of life.

Before entering senior living, Courtney spent more than five years in retail management with Belk, beginning as a sales team leader and ultimately serving as a Store Manager. Her time in retail taught her adaptability, leadership, and the importance of creating positive experiences—skills she now brings to Modena Cary with pride. She is grateful to now use those strengths in a setting where every interaction has purpose and every day offers the chance to make someone feel seen and supported.

Outside of work, Courtney finds joy in food, family, and the simple magic of gathering with the people she loves. She enjoys music, podcasts, and movies—especially the fun of trying to guess what will happen next. Nature is another source of peace for her; she loves the calmness of being outdoors and the grounding feeling of being part of something bigger. Her ideal getaway is a cozy cabin in the mountains during the fall or spending summer days at her family’s beach house. Courtney was born in Virginia, where most of her family still lives, and moved to North Carolina in 2012. She and her husband have a smart and silly nine‑year‑old daughter and are excitedly awaiting the arrival of their son. Their home is also shared with two dogs—Riley, their beloved rescue who turns ten this year, and a 70‑pound American Bully who is truly the baby of the family—along with a State Fair goldfish her daughter won two years ago.
